Caring for someone can be very rewarding and can bring you closer together, but it can also be challenging and sometimes upsetting.

Many carers can all too easily get caught in a cycle of resentment and guilt – resentful that their life is no longer their own, and guilty for feeling like this.

It is important to acknowledge these feelings and not bottle them up. It’s also important to make sure that you look after yourself. This page contains information to help you think about your feelings and suggests ways to get the support you need.

It is normal to feel resentful that your life is not perhaps the one you imagined. Perhaps your relationship with the person you care for has changed and you miss how it used to be. The person you are caring for may not always seem to appreciate what you are doing for them. You are bound to be affected by this.

You may feel that you should be doing more, or doing something better, in terms of your actual caring role. Then you feel guilty because you "aren't doing a good job".Remember too that in some situations the person you are caring for may also feel guilty. It is possible they feel guilty about being a "burden" or they see the affect caring has on your life.

There are a few ways you can support yourself. It's important to find time to rest and energise, even if it’s going for a walk, listening to music or watching a favourite film. T he important thing is not to push those feelings away – it is important to allow yourself to feel these perfectly normal feelings and not get overwhelmed with guilt.

Talk about it to the person you are caring for or to someone else that you trust.If you can, talk to your friends and family. Let them know how you are managing and ask them for their support and help.

If you don't feel able to share these feelings with friends and family, talking to other carers can help. They will be familiar with what you are going through and may be able to suggest solutions that have worked for them. Do you know someone who has been a carer? Is there a carers' group nearby?

Can you join an online carers' discussion forum? Talking to others about it will help give some context to how you feel so the feelings don’t get built up out of proportion. The Carers UK forum is a place where you can share what's on your mind, day and night. You can talk about real issues with people who understand and who can support you through everything caring has to throw at you.

You could also talk to your GP. They may be able to refer you to a counselling service, or give you information about local support groups, as could your local social serviceswho may also be able to provide a sitting or break service so you can have some time to yourself.

South Korean President: Trump 'should win the Nobel Peace Prize'

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Monday that President Trump deserves to win a Nobel Peace Prize for his role in talks to denuclearize the Korean peninsula and end the decades-long war between the North and South.

EXCLUSIVE A group of 18 Republican lawmakers have signed their names to a letter formally nominating President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize -- the latest development in a growing push to award the president the honor for his work toward peace in the Korean Peninsula.

The letter, sent by Rep. Luke Messer, R-Ind. to the Norwegian Nobel Committee on Tuesday, and signed by 17 other members, says Trump has worked “tirelessly to apply maximum pressure to North Korea to end its illicit weapons programs and bring peace to the region.”

“His Administration successfully united the international community, including China, to impose one of the most successful international sanctions regimes in history,” the letter says. “The sanctions have decimated the North Korean economy and have been largely credited for bringing North Korea to the negotiating table.”

The letter is signed by 17 other members, including Reps Mark Meadows, R-N.C., Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., Diane Black, R-Tenn., and Steve King, R-Iowa.

“Although North Korea has evaded demands from the international community to cease its aggression for decades, President Trump’s peace through strength policies are working and bringing peace to the Korean peninsula,” the letter says. “We can think of no one more deserving of the Committee’s recognition in 2019 than President Trump for his tireless work to bring peace to our world.”

The nomination is for the 2019 prize, as the 2018 award nomination period ended in February. According to the Nobel Prize's website, a nomination is considered valid if submitted by persons in certain categories -- including “members of national assemblies and national governments (cabinet members/ministers) of sovereign states as well as current heads of state." There are 330 candidates for the 2018 prize, which will be announced in October.

Emotions and thought forms can create emotional molecules that become a physical essence in the body. The effect that these molecules have can exert a physical toll on the body in all kinds of ways. It takes time, energy, and space to maintain resentments. Certain areas in the brain are being occupied by this energy. Resentment, regret, and rejection have a considerable influence and have a direct connection to the Beliefs that are blocking our bodies from healing.

The feeling work is important. Through proper stimuli, your brain makes new connections for thought all the time. When you do the Feeling Work, you stimulate the brain and add new connections. With the Feeling Work, we teach how to live without specific negative habits. You give them the ability to shut down receptors that are looking for these negative emotional programs and make new pathways to positive ones. Your cells have receptors for emotion. Once the receptor is used to the emotion, it has to have it just like a drug. For example, if you are used to being depressed, you will create depression. This is why we use the Feeling Work to live without resentment, feeling miserable, or “poor me” and to be able to retrain the neuron receptors to accept joy, happiness, and responsibility for their life is very important.

Never underestimate the power of the human mind. The unconscious mind knows that to prevent something worse happening to a person it can use the emotion of resentment. The human mind can use the energy of resentment as the lessor of two evils. The problem lies in that the mind replays the program to create anger and resentment in a constant effort to protect itself. When you do belief work on the resentment, it will relive the resentment.

Once the receptors in the brain are taught to have constant resentment, the person will find someone else to resent and the keeps the belief intact. Once you have done the feeling work, you have the conscious awareness and can shut down the negative emotion and open it for the positive one. Anything that is not going right in the person’s life likely has a deeper cause. If there are still things in your life that are a continuing drama that causes resentment, then there is still belief work to be done.
